Mammography

Mammography

Mammography is an x-ray imaging technique that uses X-ray technology to examine the breast for the early detection of cancer and other breast diseases. It is a non-invasive medical test that helps doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions.

There are two main types of mammographic examinations which are Screening and Diagnostic. Screening mammography is a specific type of breast imaging that uses low-dose x-rays to detect early stages of breast cancer. A diagnostic mammogram is another type of X-ray test used to diagnose unusual breast changes, such as a lump, pain, change in breast shape, and size.

2D Mammography

Digital Mammography, also called 2D Mammography, is a site-specific imaging technique that uses a very low dose X-Ray to produce a detailed image of the breast tissue. A diagnostic mammogram is used when a patient has had an abnormal screening mammogram or when symptoms such as a lump, breast pain, or nipple discharge are present. 2D Mammography is a quick, simple, and safe routine to examine the breast for abnormalities.
